BRADENTON — Bradenton-based higher education consulting firm CampusWorks named new Mahendran Jawaharlal president.

Jawaharlal assumed the role of president and will also take on the role of CEO July 1. On July 1, current CampusWorks CEO Liz Murphy will transition to chairwoman of the board. Current CampusWorks Chairman Eric Schoenberg will continue on the board as a director.

Jawaharlal will take on the day-to-day responsibilities of running CampusWorks, which handles accreditation assistance and technology assessments for colleges and universities, among other tasks.

Jawaharlal has more than 30 years of experience in higher education technology, the statement says. He was previously president of Macmillan Enterprise Services Group where he worked on acquisitions, portfolio management and integration of acquired businesses.

“We are confident that Mahendran's global perspective and strategic vision will further our ability to deliver the transformative independent perspective and creative solutions we are known for,” says Schoenberg in a statement.
