University woos accomplished fundraiser

SARASOTA — Paul Bova joined University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee as director of development in the Office of Advancement.

Bova started in his new role in December. He was previously the director of major gifts at Florida Gulf Coast University. There he assisted the university in surpassing its $100 million fundraising campaign by $20 million.

According to a press release, Bova has 15 years of higher education development and fundraising experience. He served on a team that raised over $175 million in 12 years for his alma mater, Norwich University in Northfield, Vt. He also helped secure support for the Suncoast Credit Union Arena in Fort Myers as senior director at the Florida Southwestern State College Foundation.

USF Sarasota-Manatee is a regional campus of the USF system with classes in Manatee and Sarasota counties, Venice and online.
