Firm breaks ground on six-story hotel

SARASOTA — Sarasota-based construction company Stellar Development Inc. started construction on a new Holiday Inn and Suites in Orlando near Lake Buena Vista.

According to a press release, the 89,000-square-foot hotel will be six stories and have 143 rooms, a dining area, a full-service kitchen and meeting rooms.

“Our entire team at Stellar Development is excited to break ground on this great project, it will be a tremendous addition to our project portfolio and the continuing growth in the Florida market” says Stellar Development President Maurice Opstal in a statement.

Stellar Development was founded in Sarasota in 1999. It specializes in general contracting, pre-construction, design-build and construction management.
