WEST VILLAGES — Homebuilders in the south Sarasota County master-planned community of West Villages Florida sold a combined 84 homes in November.

According to a press release, the sales exceed the previous month’s sales by nearly 20%.

With two weeks left in the year, annual home sales stand at 1,056. That's compared to 915 for the same period in 2017, the release states.

In November, the release adds, more than 800 people visited at least one of the seven sales centers in the community.

“In parallel to Florida’s strong housing market, we continue to see increased traffic, buyer interest and sales across all of our communities within West Villages Florida,” says West Villages President Paul Erhardt in the statement.

In January, construction will begin on the Publix-anchored West Villages Marketplace shopping center. It is scheduled to open in fall 2019.

West Villages Florida includes 15,000 acres between the cities of Venice and North Port. The community is being developed by a partnership that includes Mattamy Homes and Vanguard Land.
