Health organization announces CEO's retirement

SARASOTA — Coastal Behavioral Healthcare Inc. announced the retirement of CEO John “Jack” Minge III.

According to a press release, Minge joined Coastal in 2013 with more than 25 years of executive experience leading behavioral health care and family safety providers throughout Florida.

In January, Minge will move to Jacksonville to enjoy time with his wife, daughter and grandchildren, the release adds. 

During the leadership transition, the Coastal board will manage the organization's operations with the current governing structure. 

“In my time with CBH, we have had the opportunity to build a highly effective team," says Minge in the statement. "Working alongside these passionate, thoughtful individuals is why we have been capable of significantly improving the outcome of those in our care. I’m very optimistic the next CEO will bring great leadership, service and financial assistance to our community.”

In Minge's time leading Coastal, the release states the organization collaborated with more than 20 state and private organizations, including the Department of Children and Families; First Step of Sarasota; Sarasota County Schools; and the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office to provide access to those in need of substance abuse or behavioral health care.

Coastal Behavioral Health has served Sarasota, Charlotte and Lee counties for more than 40 years. It provides evidence-based behavioral health care services to children, adolescents, adults, seniors and their families struggling with mental health and substance abuse issues.
