SARASOTA — United Way Suncoast announced Sue Wetzel was named Sarasota area president.
According to a press release, Wetzel spent more than 10 years as an executive with Johnson & Johnson. Most recently, she was medical device transformation leader and vice president of U.S. customer service.
Wetzel has served on the Sarasota area board for United Way Suncoast and has been a chairperson for Women United locally. She was also vice president of United Way of America and president of United Way of Somerset County in New Jersey. Wetzel relocated to the Sarasota area two years ago.
“During our search process we were fortunate to have several incredibly strong candidates from here in the Sarasota area and nationally,” says United Way Suncoast President and CEO Suzanne McCormick in a statement. “Sue brings a unique balance of strong leadership, business experience and community building that will ensure United Way continues to bring the community together around key issues to fight the cycle of generational poverty.”
