Foundation names new board members, elects officers

SARASOTA — The Education Foundation of Sarasota County elected six new members to its board of directors.  

Nancy Harris, Kent Hayes and Anne Rollings will serve three-year terms that began in May. Three teacher and student representatives were also elected to one-year terms — 2017 Sarasota County Teacher of the Year William “B.J.” Ivey, Riverview High School senior Michael Feltovic and North Port High School senior Stephanie Hawkins. 

According to a press release, Harris is a retired arts educator, museum archivist, oral historian and entrepreneur. She was also the founder and CEO of Simply Organized LLC. 

Hayes is director of client services at Sarasota-based Tandem Construction. He has experience with startups and small businesses, marketing and growth strategies. 

Rollings is the manager of corporate office operations of Gecko’s Hospitality Group. She oversees business development, public relations, government relations and the company’s charitable giving program.

The board elected Britt Riner as chair, Lisl Liang as vice chair, Linda Jellison as secretary, Juan Villaveces as treasurer and Tom Koski as immediate past chair.

The Education Foundation of Sarasota County works to advance philanthropic support for Sarasota County Schools.
