TAMPA — Morgan Auto Group’s network of dealerships has grown to 32 with the addition of Brandon Hyundai and Brandon Mitsubishi. The acquisition, according to a press release, adds the Hyundai brand to Morgan’s portfolio for the first time.
"The Brandon Hyundai and Brandon Mitsubishi acquisitions are exciting on many fronts,” CEO Brett Morgan states in the release. “They bring an excellent volume brand like Hyundai to our group and extend our presence in a Brandon market where we have always enjoyed doing business.”
Both dealerships are located at 9915 E. Adamo Drive in Tampa, near another Morgan property, Brandon Honda. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“We have long known and admired the seller, John Wendkos — who has owned car dealerships for almost 50 years — and were honored that he chose to sell the dealerships to us,” states Bennett Acuff, vice president of Morgan Auto Group, in the release. “These acquisitions present the perfect mix of great brands and a stellar location.”
Industry veteran Jerry Clark will serve as the new general manager for both stores, the release states. Clark was recruited from Maryland because of his high level of experience.
Tampa-based Morgan Auto Group now represents 10 brands across 10 stores in Tampa alone, including Honda, Toyota, Ford, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, RAM, MINI and the newly acquired Hyundai and Mitsubishi. The company also has BMW and Lamborghini dealerships in Sarasota.
