Paul Rutledge, a first vice president with commercial real estate brokerage firm CBRE Inc. in Tampa, has jumped to competitor JLL to beef up the latter’s retail practice.

“I think JLL tends to be more retail centric, and as such, it’s an opportunity here I didn’t want to pass up,” says Rutledge, a JLL senior vice president.

“There’s a different profile and responsibilities here, it’s not just transactional in nature,” adds Rutledge, 65. “Here, I’ll be involved more in business development, and the integration of lines of business.”

Rutledge had worked at CBRE for the past five years, joining the brokerage from retail developer Casto Southeast Realty Services, where he was chief operating officer beginning in 2007.

Rutledge has also been heavily involved in the International Council of Shopping Centers, a leading trade group. In 2015/2016, he was ICSC’s Florida operations chairman.
