APOLLO BEACH — A pair of veterinary professionals-turned-entrepreneurs have teamed up to open a new luxury pet resort and animal hospital in the Apollo Beach area.

Veterinarian Anna Bannon is the founder and owner of Family Animal Hospital, which offers four private exam rooms, a state-of-the-art surgical suite, cutting-edge treatment options like laser therapy and acupuncture, as well as internal medicine consultations.

“We focus on the needs of the individual pet, and we don’t apply a one-size-fits-all attitude toward anything,” Bannon states in a press release. “Whether it’s vaccines or a surgical protocol, we always tailor to fit the individualized needs of that pet.”

Rowdy’s Pet Resort, meanwhile, is the brainchild of Danielle Judge, who has worked in the veterinary industry for more than decade, including stints with the Hillsborough Animal Health Foundation and BluePearl Veterinary Partners in Tampa. The resort will offer doggy daycare and pet boarding with luxury amenities, including an outdoor play area, air-conditioned indoor playrooms and pet-friendly couches, beds and toys.

“We have focused on building a place that pet parents can rest assured their pet is both safe and comfortable with the same amenities of home, whether they are away on a vacation or just dropping them off for the day while they’re at work,” Judge states in the release.

Rowdy’s Pet Resort and Family Animal Hospital are separately owned businesses but share the same location at 13141 Kings Lake Drive in Gibsonton.
