ST. LEO — Saint Leo University in Pasco County appointed Senthil Kumar vice president of its newly created office of global engagement and international affairs.

Kumar’s first day on the job was April 16, according to a press release. He comes to Saint Leo from Bay State College in Massachusetts, where he served as both vice president of enrollment management and dean of international programs.

"The creation of the new office represents a positive step in the university’s global engagement strategy," states William Lennox Jr., president of Saint Leo University, in the release. " Kumar’s extensive international experience makes him the ideal candidate to serve as the vice president for global engagement and international affairs, and I am confident he will build a strong foundation that will help make Saint Leo University one of the nation's most internationally engaged universities."

Kumar holds a master’s degree and PhD in business administration and will oversee the university’s global business operations, among other key areas of responsibility, the release states. His resume also includes leadership positions at the National Graduate School of Quality Management, also in Massachusetts, as well as Johnson & Wales University in Rhode Island and Oklahoma City University, his alma mater.
