Former PGT CEO, marketing exec elected to foundation board

Rod Hershberger and David Green began three-year terms on the board of directors of Gulf Coast Community Foundation.

VENICE — Gulf Coast Community Foundation elected Rod Hershberger and David Green to its board of directors. 

Hershberger retired as CEO of Venice-based window and door manufacturer PGT Innovations at the end of 2017. He serves as PGT's non-employee chairman of the board. He's also been director and past president of the Argus Foundation and co-chair of the 2017 World Rowing Championships held in Sarasota.

Green spent a 45-year career in marketing and branding with international consumer brands. According to a press release, he worked for McDonald's Corp. for 30 years, most recently as its senior global marketing officer. He is also board vice president of the Hermitage Artist Retreat and a board member of Sarasota Orchestra. 

Hershberger and Green began three-year terms on the board on March 1. 

The other members of the Gulf Coast Community Foundation board of directors are Judy Cahn, Lisa Carlton, Scott Collins, Anne Essner, Janis Fawn, Tracy Knight, Pauline Joerger, Jay McHargue, Anand Pallegar, Mark Pritchett, Michael Saunders, Susan Sofia, Joe Stephan, Bayne Stevenson and Tommy Taylor.

Gulf Coast Community Foundation has invested $280 million in grants in health and human services; civic and economic development; education; arts and culture; and the environment.
