CLEARWATER — Clearwater-based Stratus Video, a provider of video interpretation and telehealth solutions, opened a new office in Dallas.

In a press release, Stratus Video says its new facility will support the company's expanding base of health care customers by providing additional customer service representatives and medically certified interpreters. In addition to supporting the region's Limited English Proficiency population, Stratus says the new facility — the company's third U.S. location — will bring nearly 200 jobs to the local economy over the next 12 months.

Stratus says it chose Dallas for its expansion because, according to 2015 U.S. Census Bureau data, Texas is home to the second-highest concentration of LEP individuals in the country, with 3.6 million non-English speakers.

“We have a strong connection to the local community and this new Dallas location will support our growing presence in the region,” says Edgardo Garcia, director of the new Stratus facility, in a statement. “With our sustained growth in our language services division and the rapid expansion of our new telehealth division, the opening of this center represents our dedication to customer service.”
