Chicago contractor opens Tampa office

CHICAGO - Chicago-based general contractor Summit Design and Build LLC opened Summit Design and Build Southeast LLC in Tampa.

In a press release, the company says the expansion is a sign of the firm's continued growth. It also announced it hired Scott Hutchison to manage the new office, which is located in Tampa's Westshore business district.

Hutchison's title will be director of southeast construction for Summit Design and Build Southeast. He has more than 24 years' construction management experience. Previously, he served as senior project manager at Shawmut Design and Construction, where he spearheaded major construction projects in Miami, New York, Chicago and California.

“Opening Summit Design and Build Southeast is something I've wanted to do for some time,” says Summit President Adam Miller in the statement. “I have strong ties to the area and it felt like the natural next step to expand our operations to a market like Tampa and St. Petersburg. Scott will be crucial to growing the business and team and is a great addition to Summit Design and Build.”
