SARASOTA — Rehabilitation and senior care community Pines of Sarasota appointed a new medical director, Dr. Adrian Torres.

Torres joined the organization in May 2017, according to a press release. He will develop standards of care, programs that emphasize wellness within the facility, advise on quality of care, assist with the implementation and review of policies and procedures and provide staff education.

Previously, Torres was medical director at Moorings Park Community in Naples. He is also medical director for First Physicians Group Post-Acute Services of Sarasota Memorial Hospital.

Torres is triple board certified in geriatric medicine, internal medicine and hospice and palliative medicine.

“My philosophy is to take every opportunity to listen and learn from all the people I meet and that's how I work with my Pines patients,” says Torres in a statement. “Paying attention to their needs and listening to them, as well as to their family members and the rest of the staff here, makes it much easier to give them the very best of care.”
