SARASOTA — Homebuilder M/I Homes of Sarasota LLC hired John Sackett as general sales manager and Morgan Rushnell as land project manager.

According to a press release, Sackett will be responsible for meeting the company's sales targets through planning and budgeting, and Rushnell will be responsible for providing feasibility support for new land acquisitions.

Previously, Sackett was with WCI Communities as a six-year sales consultant at Tidewater Preserve in Bradenton. He was also area manager for Norwest Mortgage, vice president of the Southwest Florida sales and marketing division at Centex Corp. and producing sales manager for Centennial Management Inc.

Before joining M/I Homes of Sarasota, Rushnell had a graduate architect position with Mesh Architecture and Fabrication in St. Petersburg where she took part in the design process, generated drawings, managed consultants and oversaw projects. She has a bachelor's degree in interior design and a Master of Architecture degree.

“You do not simply find employees like Morgan and John every day,” says Area President David Hunihan in a statement. “They are ready to take M/I Homes and clients in Sarasota and Manatee to places they only dreamed of less than two years ago. We are so fortunate to have specialists like that representing our company.”

Melvin and Irving Schottenstein founded M/I Homes in 1976. A year ago, the company opened a homebuilding division for Sarasota and Manatee counties.
