TAMPA — Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston has established a charitable foundation, Jameis Winston's Dream Room, that will provide new, state-of-the-art technology centers in financially disadvantaged Title I schools.

According to a news release, the technology centers — known as Dream Rooms — will expand students' personal learning opportunities and provide educational exploration opportunities, allowing them to explore, tinker, design and invent.

Winston and his teammates will kick off fundraising efforts for the foundation with a private gala dubbed “A Night to Achieve Dreams” Monday, Oct. 23, at TPepin's Hospitality Centre in Tampa. Some 180 guests will be able to mix and mingle with the Bucs players as they enjoy a cocktail reception sponsored by Bouchard Insurance and Northwestern Mutual Greater Tampa Bay.

There will also be live and silent auctions, proceeds from which will go to Winston's foundation, whose mission, according to the release “is to impact lives of financially disadvantaged children and youth through encouragement, opportunities and resources to develop and achieve dreams.”
