NAPLES — The developer behind two independent senior living communities in the area, Sandalwood Village and Diamond Oaks Village, is offering short term lease options for independent seniors aged 55 and older displaced by severe weather damage.

The developer, the United Group of Companies Inc., made the announcement Sept. 28 in the wake of Hurricane Irma. Company officials say a limited number of one-and-two bedroom apartments are available with three- or six-month leases at Sandalwood Village, in Naples and Diamond Oaks Village, in Bonita Springs.

“Our properties fared very well throughout Hurricane Irma,” says Gina O'Toole, a regional manager for United Group, in the statement, adding the properties only experienced minor landscaping damages. “We're offering short term leases at these beautiful communities to provide displaced independent seniors with an opportunity to live in comfort with state-of-the-art amenities and a unique lifestyle.”
