NAPLES — Dan Heine, president of DH Advisors in Naples, a financial services firm, has been convicted in federal court for his role in a conspiracy to hide an Oregon bank's problematic financial position from regulators.

Heine, according to his LinkedIn page, has run DH Advisors since 2014. When he was indicted on the charges in 2015, federal authorities listed his home as Naples, according to a statement released then from the U.S. Attorney's office.

The case in Oregon is with Bank of Oswego in Lake Oswego, south of Portland. Heine, the bank's co-founder and former CEO, and Diana Yates, the CFO, were found guilty Nov. 28 on 12 counts of making false entries in the bank's books to hide bad loans, according to a story in The Oregonian newspaper in Portland. Each count is punishable by 30 years in prison.

Heine founded the Bank of Oswego in 2004. According to the original indictment, authorities alleged Heine and Yates concealed information about the bank's financial position from the Bank of Oswego's board from September 2009 through 2014. That included reporting false or misleading information about loan performance and concealing information about foreclosures.
