SARASOTA — The Sarasota Bayfront Planning Organization board of directors selected William Waddill as managing director.

Waddill will lead master plan development with design and planning firm Sasaki for the 42-acre city-owned Bayfront.

Waddill was previously senior vice president at Kimley-Horn and Associates. According to a press release, he has 31 years of experience working on public spaces like the Bradenton Riverwalk, Perry Harvey Park in Tampa and Baker Park in Naples.

He will begin his work as managing director on Jan. 3, 2018.

“After an extensive two-phased interview process, we believe Bill Waddill's leadership and strategic vision will be key ingredients to reimagine the possibilities for our bayfront based on the vision and guiding principles adopted by the City of Sarasota,” says Sarasota Bayfront Planning Organization board member and retired Senior VP of Global Human Resources for The Coca-Cola Company Cynthia McCague in a statement.
