ST. PETERSBURG — Madico Inc., which makes advanced laminates and window films, will spend $30 million on developing a new world headquarters and manufacturing facility in Pinellas Park.

Madico, a subsidiary of Lintec USA Holdings, has a presence in nearby St. Petersburg as well as Woburn, Mass. In a press release, the company says it intends to relocate all existing operations, equipment and resources from both of its existing locations to the new facility in Pinellas Park.

According to the release, Madico bought the 20-acre property, located at 9251 Belcher Road, with an eye toward better serving existing clients and finding new opportunities in markets ranging from architectural and automotive to aerospace, health care and transportation.

“Investing in a new facility with greater capacity supports Madico's long-term growth plans and expands our capabilities so we can serve more customer segments,” states Madico president Shawn Kitchell in the release. “Lintec is clearly demonstrating its commitment to the Madico business and its confidence in the growth of the markets we serve.”

The relocation is expected to be complete by the end of 2018, and the company says it will not adversely affect product manufacturing, service or delivery.
