SARASOTA — Michael Ritter was named board president of The Jewish Federation of Sarasota-Manatee.

Ritter most recently served as the treasurer and vice president of the Federation's board of directors.

“He's a force for good in the community — well known for his leadership and philanthropic engagement,” says Federation Executive Director Howard Tevlowitz in a statement about Ritter.

Ritter is a retired CPA and senior partner at Ernst & Young. He moved to the Sarasota-Bradenton area in 2006 from Ohio.

Ritter still serves on the board and administrative committee for the Jewish Federation of Cleveland. In Sarasota, he is also the board chair of The Perlman Music Program/Suncoast.

The Jewish Federation of Sarasota-Manatee is a nonprofit. Its mission is to save Jewish lives and enhance Jewish life in the Sarasota-Manatee region, in Israel and throughout the world.
