Two new members appointed to university board

SARASOTA — The University of South Florida Board of Trustees appointed William Mariotti and Rick Piccolo as members of the USF Sarasota-Manatee Campus Board.

Mariotti and Piccolo were appointed to four-year terms ending June 30, 2021, according to a press release. They join USF System Trustee and Campus Board Chair Byron Shinn, David Eckel and Dr. Anila Jain on the five-person board.

Mariotti is president and CEO of Bill Mariotti Site Development Co. Inc. and president of Mariotti Asphalt and Mariotti Utilities. He has a bachelor's degree in business from USF Sarasota-Manatee.

Piccolo has been president and CEO of Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport since 1995. Prior to his position there, he was the assistant airport director at St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport. He has also served as president of the Florida Airports Council.

USF Sarasota-Manatee is a regional campus of the University of South Florida system, offering classes in Manatee and Sarasota counties, Venice and online.
