Mainsail Lodging & Development has received the Partnership Circle Award from Marriott International, the highest accolade presented to the hotel operator and lodging industry behemoth's property owners and franchisors.
The Tampa-based Mainsail, which received the award last month at a Marriott meeting in San Francisco, also was inducted into the award program's Hall of Fame.
Mainsail owns Marriott Autograph Collection properties in the British Virgin Islands and Tampa, and will debut another on Anna Maria Island next month.
The company also is planning new Autograph properties in Fort Myers and Dunedin.
Marriott gave Mainsail the award based on how it embodies the operator's vision, maintains a well-managed and engaged workforce and provides “outstanding customer service.”
“We have a lot of pride in what we're doing,” says Joe Collier III, Mainsail's president. “We believe we're curating these hotels, not just building bricks and mortar. It's really a testament to the whole team we have in place.”
Mainsail's Epicurean Hotel, in Tampa, meanwhile, also recently was named among the top five hotels in Florida in a Conde Nast Traveler's Readers Choice survey for 2017.
More than 300,000 readers participated this year. Epicurean has been recognized among Florida's Top 10 hotels since 2014.
The Hyde Park hotel, which features a rooftop bar, wine and spirit shop and a spa, was developed by Mainsail and the Bern's Steak House. It also was the first newly constructed properties named to Marriott's Autograph Collection.
