TAMPA — Florida Funders, an investor network and online investing platform for early-stage and other companies, has made a leadership change.

The Tampa-based organization named longtime area tech executive and investor Tom Wallace interim managing general partner, according to a spokeswoman. Wallace takes over day-to-day operations from previous CEO Marc Blumenthal, who will remain on the executive committee and Florida Funders board.

The leadership change, according to the spokeswoman, stems from a decision to switch the structure of the organization to a more traditional General Partnership model common in venture capital and private equity. Florida Funders currently seeks to hire a permanent managing general partner.

Wallace was previously on the boards of Tampa-based online education firm Red Vector and the Tampa Bay Technology Forum, according to his LinkedIn profile. Companies he has invested in, according to the profile, include Tribridge and Q-Link.
