CLEARWATER — St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport announced it served 181,649 passengers in April — the busiest April in the history of the airport by passenger numbers.
The passenger count for this April was 24% greater than it was in April 2016. It marked the 26th consecutive month of broken records for the airport, according to a press release.
Domestic travel was up 23% and international travel was up 64% for the month. Year-to-date passengers are up 16% over 2016.
Sunwing seasonal service to Toronto and Halifax, Nova Scotia, is up 26% over 2016 year-to-date.
St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport has 57 non-stop destinations.
