PORT RICHEY — Seaway Plastics Engineering, a Pasco County-based injection molding manufacturer, named industry veteran Tom Orr president and CEO.

Orr was also appointed to the company's board of directors, according to a statement.

Orr has over 25 years of domestic manufacturing and international sourcing experience and has held executive positions in sales, marketing, and operations. He joins Seaway Plastics from Poppelmann Plastics USA, a division of Poppelmann Holdings GmbH headquartered in Germany, where he served as president for the past six years. Orr was responsible for leading the expansion of Poppelmann's injection molded and thermoformed products into the U.S. market, the release states.

"Tom's entrepreneurial background, experience running an international injection molding operation and proven leadership skills will help guide our company through our next growth phase," says Seaway Plastics founder Tim Smock in the statement.

Port Richey-based Seaway Plastics is a full service plastic injection molding company specializing in prototype injection molding, low to mid volume production and mold making. It has 160 employees, and manufacturing locations in Port Richey and Brooksville. Industries it works in include medical, aerospace, military, packaging, food service, industrial and consumer products.

"Seaway is an exceptional company that services a complex market in the injection molding industry,” says Orr in the release. “The opportunity for Seaway is vast and I am looking forward to working with the team to accelerate growth and provide our customers with the highest level of product quality and service in the industry.”
