TAMPA — Luxury cruise ship Azamara Quest recently made a one-time port of call for the cruise season at Port Tampa Bay.

Port Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer Raul Alfonso greeted the ship's captain and crew with a group of port staff members. They presented a commemorative plaque to Captain Jose Vilarinho.

In 2007, the 660-passenger ship was diverted from Miami to Port Tampa Bay because of the threat of Tropical Storm Noel, according to a statement. The ship's 2017 visit is considered its official maiden call.

Port Tampa Bay generates over $17 billion in annual economic impact, according to a statement.
