CLEARWATER — Allegiant announced new nonstop service to St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport from Norfolk, Va., Milwaukee, Ogdensburg, N.Y. and Phoenix.

The service from Norfolk, Milwaukee and Ogdensburg is year-round and the service to Phoenix/Mesa is seasonal. Flights from Norfolk will begin Oct. 4, flights from Milwaukee begin Oct. 13, flights from Ogdensburg begin Nov. 16 and flights from Phoenix/Mesa begin Nov. 15.

The news relating to St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport was part of a larger announcement from the airline of 28 new routes and service from three new U.S. cities — Gulfport, Miss., Norfolk and Milwaukee. According to a statement, the announcement was the largest-ever of new service in the company's history.

“We're so excited to grow our network and add service in Gulfport, Norfolk and Milwaukee,” says Allegiant Senior Vice President of Commercial Lukas Johnson in a statement. “With the addition of three new cities and a major expansion of service into Phoenix, we'll be able to offer some great fall travel options, with convenient, nonstop service across the country.”
