Johnny Cash property for sale

PORT RICHEY — A waterfront property in Pasco County once belonging to country music stars Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash is for sale.

The property is on the Pithlachascotee River at 7814 Pier Rd. It includes a retreat-style home built in 2004. It's listed at $894,950.

June Carter Cash's parents, Ezra “Pop” Carter and “Mother” Maybelle Carter, originally purchased the property in the mid-1960s. Johnny and June Carter Cash inherited the property after her parents died.

According to a press release announcing that the property is for sale, Johnny Cash visited Port Richey to fish and relax when he had a break from touring.

The warranty deed with the signatures of John R. Cash and June Carter Cash is on display in the living room of the house.
