TAMPA — McElroy, Deutsch, Mulvaney & Carpenter LLP, founded in New Jersey, announced it will open an office in Tampa.

The opening marks the law firm's expansion to the Southeast. It will be the firm's 13th location in eight states including New Jersey, New York, Colorado, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Massachusetts and Delaware, according to a press release.

The initial member of the firm's Tampa office is James “Jamie” Myers. Myers joined the firm as a partner. He has experience representing clients in civil, business and commercial litigation. Previously, he worked for a Tampa area law firm and served as an assistant state attorney in Florida.

“Our Tampa office will provide Florida's third most populous city with access to MDM&C's nearly 275 attorneys, and our deep expertise across a broad range of industries,” says Managing Partner Edward Deutsch in a statement. “We believe the economic health of the Tampa Bay region will continue to grow over the coming decade, and by offering legal professionals of Jamie Myers' caliber, we are positioned to help drive that growth.”
