Maritime company acquires surfacing firm

TAMPA — Hendry Marine Industries Inc. acquired surface preparation and preservation company Anchor Sandblasting and Painting Inc.

The company will operate under the name Anchor Sandblasting and Coatings LLC. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. All of Anchor's 56 employees will become Hendry Marine Industries employees.

“We have partnered with Anchor for many years now and have always been impressed with their high-quality work,” says Hendry Marine Industries CEO and President Jim Long in a statement. “By bringing them into the Hendry family, we aim to create flexibility and competitiveness that will meet the needs of both existing and new customers.”

Anchor Sandblasting and Painting was founded in 2000 to offer sandblasting, pressure washing and painting to maritime industry clients in the Southeast.

Hendry Marine Industries and its affiliated companies provide maritime services including commercial and government ship repair, dry dock construction, steel fabrication, stevedoring, marine terminal operations, marine environmental services and maritime employee staffing.
