Hospital names executive

VENICE — Maria Caruso has been named the chief financial officer of Venice Regional Bayfront Health.

She has served as the hospital's interim chief financial officer since April. Caruso joined Venice Regional Bayfront Health in 2015 as assistant chief financial officer.

According to a press release, Caruso has 10 years of experience in financial management of hospitals and health care systems. Prior to working with Venice Regional, she was controller for Deaconess and Valley hospitals in Spokane, Wash., and worked as a financial analyst and staff coordinator for Community Health Systems in Franklin, Tenn.

Venice Regional Bayfront Health is a 312-bed, acute care hospital serving the Venice area. The hospital and its affiliated Gulf Coast Medical Group clinics provide care to people in central and south Sarasota County.
