TAMPA — Fast-growing technology firm Mad Mobile hired a former Walt Disney Co. executive to lead the “creative execution” and “product innovation” for its Concierge retail software application package.

Kim Porter joins Tampa-based Mad Mobile as vice president of digital innovation and user experience from Disney Consumer Products, where she spent more than five years in research and development and other divisions focusing on creative and technological exploration.

“As we enter this next phase of growth for Mad Mobile, Kim is a critical addition,” says Mad Mobile CEO Bruce Bennett, who adds that Porter will allow the company to “gain even more traction among the world's largest retailers.”

Porter is no stranger to Mad Mobile. She worked at the company in a design role prior to joining Disney, according to a statement.

“I joined Mad Mobile because of the company's passion for technology innovation and consumer-first experiences,” Porter says in statement. “The retail landscape has changed and Mad Mobile is at the forefront of the disruption. I am beyond excited to return to Tampa Bay to join the team and get to work re-inventing retail in-store.”

Mad Mobile works to help merchants such as Aeropostale, Ashley Furniture, Books-A-Million, Talbots's and Payless Shoesource better engage with customers and enhance in-store experience to sell more goods.

The company's Concierge system allows customers and employees with mobile devices or in-store systems to access retailer data to broaden sales.
