SARASOTA — The Stockham Law Group has hired Vanessa Ross as a senior attorney and opened a Sarasota office, from where she will be based.

Ross, who has practiced insurance law since 2006, will focus her practice on representing clients who have experienced insurable losses to their properties or have had claims denied.

The Sarasota office will target condominium associations and residents, commercial businesses, owners of waterfront properties and seasonal residents.

“There is a void in the Sarasota/Venice/Port Charlotte/Fort Myers/Naples market, especially in the property claims area,” says Donna Devaney Stockham, the firm's managing attorney, in a statement. “Having a market presence centrally located in Sarasota will mean a great deal to our clients as well as to the public adjusters, contractors, engineers and attorneys who refer cases to our firm.”

Stockham, a Tampa plaintiff law firm that has traditionally specialized in property insurance claim disputes, nursing home and assisted living abuse, medical malpractice and personal injury litigation, opened its Sarasota office at 1800 Second St., Suite 711.

“Property insurance litigation is a specialized and complex are of the law and I intend on being a resource for property owners, property managers and colleagues in the Sarasota market surrounding areas,” Ross says.
