CLEARWATER — The Sylvan-Abbey Funeral Home is undergoing a $2.2 million expansion and renovation in 2017.

The renovated funeral home, at 2853 Sunset Point Rd., will feature more than 12,000 square feet of state-of-the art sensory-focused surroundings and amenities, according to a statement. The Clearwater-based business was formerly known as the Moss-Feaster Funeral Home, when the owners included George and Kim Feaster, the release adds.

The new Sylvan-Abbey management team includes W. Jay Hering and Carrie Orozco. “We are extremely proud of the role Sylvan-Abbey Funeral Home and Memorial Park has played in the rich history of Pinellas County,” Hering says in the release. “We are fortunate to have George Feaster as a consulting member of our management team to ensure that we respect the vision created by George and his brother.”
