VENICE — A major redevelopment of the Rialto Shopping Center in Venice is complete.
The Lindsay Group, a Minnetonka, Minn.-based commercial real estate developer, builder and property manager, oversaw the renovation of the 72,000-square foot complex, according to a statement. The center is on South Tamiami Trail, near the Venice Regional Bayfront Healthcare Center,
The renovation and expansion project was a comprehensive makeover. It includes construction of a 3,000-square-foot addition to accommodate an additional tenant; a re-facing of the entire building; the construction of a signature tower for a property landmark; and extensive improvements to the grounds.
New tenants include Popi's, a new Greek restaurant that occupies the 3,000-square-foot corner space facing San Marco Drive and the South Tamiami Trail intersection, the release states. Popi's opened in December. Other retail tenants newly signed for the property include Goodwill Stores, Dollar General, Fifi's Consignment, N'Tino's Restaurant and several additional smaller shops and stores, says the Lindsay Group in the release.
Beebe Design Studio Architects of Venice handled architectural redesign, while Venice-based Gilbert Construction was the general contractor.
The Lindsay Group first acquired the Rialto Shopping Center in 2002. It underwent a previous renovation in 2009.
