FORT MYERS — The Horizon Council has named its officers for 2017.

Gary Griffin, president and CEO of B&I Contractors, will be the group's chair for this year, according to a statement. He was Horizon's vice chair last year and its treasurer in 2015.

Gray Davis, senior vice president and agency executive at BB&T Oswald Trippe and Co., was elected vice chair for 2017. In 2016, he was treasurer, and in 2015, he worked as the group's secretary.

He was also tapped to be president of the related Horizon Foundation for this year.

Dan Eveloff, city president of Regions Bank for Lee and Charlotte counties, was elected Horizons's treasurer, while Gail Markham, a founder of Markham Norton Mosteller Wright & Co. P.A., will be the group's secretary.

The Horizon Council was formed in 1991 to advise Lee County Commissioners. Today, the group has more than 72 members from county cities, trade organizations, chambers of commerce, economic development groups and educational organizations.

The Horizon Foundation was established to promote business investment and long-term economic vitality in Lee County, and the council works to improve the county's business environment, retain existing business while encouraging them to expand, and attract new businesses.

The Lee County Economic Development Office provides assistance to the council.
