SARASOTA — Pines of Sarasota Foundation President Estelle Crawford announced her retirement after 11 years with the organization.

The Pines of Sarasota Foundation supports the capital, programmatic and endowment needs of the nonprofit Pines of Sarasota Rehabilitation and Senior Care Community.

Foundation Director of Development Janet Ginn is interim president of Pines of Sarasota Foundation. Crawford will serve in a consulting capacity until her retirement on Sept. 30.

“It has been an honor to work on behalf of Pines' residents,” says Crawford in a press release. “They and their families are at the heart of everything we do. And it has been a privilege to know so many generous, compassionate individuals, organizations and companies and be a part of their philanthropic legacy.”

Crawford joined the foundation in 2006. According to a press release, during her time with the organization, the foundation raised funds to assist in the transformation of Pines of Sarasota campus and services including construction of the Jean and Alfred Goldstein Pavilion; creation of the Manser Rehabilitation Center and the Ann Goldstein Shear Delight Salon; development of the Ready & Steady falls prevention program; and a campus beautification project. She also created the foundation event “The Wit and Wisdom of Aging Luncheon.”

“Estelle was here for many of the transformative changes on campus, securing donor support to enable those changes to occur,” says Pines of Sarasota President and CEO John Overton in a statement.
