Tampa firm makes third acquisition in 18 months

TAMPA — Benefits administrator Zenith American Solutions Inc. acquired Connecticut-based Insurance Programmers Inc.

According to a press release, it's the third acquisition Tampa-based Zenith has made in the past 18 months.

Insurance Programmers specializes in health, welfare and retirement administration services to union trust organizations on the east coast. The acquisition expands the company's presence in New England and extends its client base, which includes Taft-Hartley trust funds, trade associations, government entities and corporate employers, the statement says.

“IPI and Zenith share a long and impressive history of serving clients in this industry for more than 100 years combined,” says Zenith CEO Art Schultz in statement.

Insurance Programmers CEO and President Lawrence Bourland will continue to lead Insurance Programmers and report to Schultz. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Zenith has 46 offices across the country. It's a company of strategic healthcare industry investor Water Street Healthcare Partners.
