BRADENTON — Former Florida Senate President John McKay has been appointed to the board of governors of Citizens Property Insurance Corp.
The board appointment was announced by the office of state CFO Jimmy Patronis. McKay succeeds former board member Juan Cocuy, according to a release. McKay has a three-year term that ends July 31, 2020.
McKay served in the Florida Senate from 1990-2002, and was Senate President from 2000-2002. He's currently president of The Riverside Real Estate Co., and brings more than 35 years of real estate and property management experience to the board of governors, the release adds.
