Top lawyer takes on leadership post at firm

TAMPA — Akerman LLP named Irene Bassel Frick managing partner of the law firm's Tampa office.

Frick is a partner in Akerman's Litigation Practice Group and is a member of the firm's Client Experience Team. She previously served as a member of the firm's Associate Professional Evaluation Committee, according to a statement. Frick represents businesses, financial institutions and insurers in a variety of business disputes, with an emphasis on class action defense and Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA) litigation.

Frick is also a founder and member of the Bay Area Legal Services Pearl Society and previously served as the president of the Hillsborough Association for Women Lawyers.

Akerman LLP, a top 100 U.S. law firm, also named Christian George managing partner of its Jacksonville office.
