Global exec to join tech giant's board

CLEARWATER — Wholesale technology product distributor Tech Data Corp. nominated Karen Dahut to the company's board of directors.

Dahut will be included on the Clearwater-based company's proxy statement for election by shareholders, according to a press release. She is an executive vice president at management consulting firm Booz Allen Hamilton. Dahut leads the firm's Civil Commercial Group and is a member of the Executive Management committee. From 2012 to 2016, she was the company's chief innovation officer.

"Our Board of Directors is excited to welcome Karen," says Tech Data Chairman of the Board Steve Raymund in a statement. "Her global leadership experience in next-generation technologies, cybersecurity and data science are an ideal fit for some of Tech Data's most important strategic initiatives. We look forward to her valuable perspectives and her contributions to Tech Data's continued growth and success."

Tech Data is ranked No. 108 on the Fortune 500. In its most recent fiscal year, which ended on Jan. 31, the company generated $26.2 billion in net sales.
