SARASOTA — University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee plans to offer online classes and real-time distance learning for students in the Master of Science in Hospitality Management program starting this fall.

Currently, students in the program attend lectures three nights a week, which can present scheduling conflicts for working professionals.

“This fills a niche for some people who like online instruction, being able to take classes at home during their free time, but also like the interaction with their professors and other students through distance-learning, which is important in graduate-level courses,” says Dean of the College of Hospitality and Tourism Leadership Patrick Moreo in a statement.

The Master of Science in Hospitality Management is designed to help hospitality professionals become leaders at hotels, restaurants, resorts and hospitality corporations, according to a press release.
