Fay Servicing LLC has unveiled plans to open a Southeastern regional headquarters in Tampa, a move that will create more than 100 jobs.

The Chicago-based mortgage servicer specializing in distressed and at-risk residential loans also will invest in excess of $1 million as part of the expansion.

Fay Servicing will occupy roughly 16,000 square feet in offices at 8001 Woodland Center Blvd., according to a release from state and Hillsborough County officials.

Its new jobs will pay an average of $55,130, the company says. In all, the company employs more than 500.

“The workforce here in Tampa is exceptional in terms of the skills we require, and the area provides many advantages when it comes to recruiting talented individuals,” says Fay Servicing CEO Ed Fay in a statement.

Fay becomes the latest professional services and finance-related company to announce plans to move to Hillsborough. In the past year, USAA, BeniComp Insurance Co., TransferWise, Gateway One Lending and Finance, Willis Towers Watson and others have chosen the county for new or expanded operations.

“Fay Servicing's decision to invest in our community offers further proof of Hillsborough County's economic dynamism and momentum,” says Colleen Chappell, the CEO of advertising, marketing and public relations firm ChappellRoberts and chairwoman of the Tampa Hillsborough Economic Development Corp.
