Discovery Senior Living named Thomas Costello CFO, promoting the executive from senior vice president of finance and accounting.

Costello has been an “integral part of Discovery Senior Living's growth and success to date, developing and managing finance, accounting and IT operations,” among other tasks, the Bonita Springs firm says in a statement.

“We want to congratulate Tom on his well-deserved promotion. Tom has been with Discovery for nearly two decades and has been instrumental in effectively guiding the growth in both the finance and accounting departments, as well as the organization in general,” Discovery Senior Living president and co-founder Richard Hutchinson says in a release. “I am proud of Tom's accomplishments to date and I am looking forward to working closely together to continue positioning Discovery as a leader in the industry.”

Some of Costello's new responsibilities, the release states, will include establishing and implementing Discovery Senior Living's strategic and tactical capital plan, negotiating organizational debt terms and usage, overseeing all accounting and financial reporting for the organization and assisting with the organization's annual and strategic plans.

Discovery Senior Living oversees a family of companies that includes Discovery Management Group, Discovery Development Group, Discovery Realty Group and Discovery At Home, a Medicare-certified home healthcare company. The company has a portfolio of more than 6,500 homes for seniors in 37 communities across eleven states.
