Company plans 170 jobs and major investment

Virginia-based Iron Bow Technologies intends to create 170 IT and other jobs in Hillsborough County as part of an expansion and development of a new contact center in Tampa.

Iron Bow, which provides outsourced customer service support for government, health care providers and commercial businesses, plans to open its new 24,000-square-foot center in the Woodland Corporate Center by Nov. 1.

The company plans to invest more than $500,000 into its new customer service center. Based in Chantilly, Va., Iron Bow generates about $800 million in annual revenue, the company says.

Manufacturer aims to crack commercial market with new deal

PGT Inc. acquired a Miami firm and formed a new subsidiary to further its push into the commercial market in South Florida and beyond.

The Venice-based manufacturer's purchase of U.S. Impact Systems comes as it has formed CGI Commercial, a new subsidiary, according to a release.

U.S. Impact, a PGT fabricator of storefront doors and windows for the past four years, will become part of CGI Windows & Doors, an existing PGT affiliate formed in 1992 that operates a manufacturing plant with more than 320 employees in Miami.

U.S. Impact also will help PGT by adding capabilities such as fabricating and glazing windows and doorframes, the release adds.

The deal is valued at $2 million, with the potential for an additional $2 million to be paid by the end of the third quarter of 2018 if certain performance markers are hit.

Economic development agency tabs new board members
The Economic Development Corp. of Sarasota County named new board members at a recent awards recognition event.

Longtime area banker Jim Kuhlman, now chairman and CEO of 1st Manatee Bank, is the new chairman of the EDC board.

Other new EDC board members include Jeffery Jackson of PGT Industries; John Angelos of the Baltimore Orioles; Rogan Donnelly of Tervis; and Drayton Saunders of Michael Saunders Co.

Elevator firm announces new leadership team

Naples-based Gulfside Elevator & Cab Interiors has a new ownership team.

The firm, formerly the residential arm of Taylor Elevator, specializes in residential elevator installations in new construction projects. It also installs residential stair lifts, dumbwaiters and wheelchair and platform lifts for clients across Southwest Florida.

The new ownership team, according to a statement, includes: John Andrews, president of operations; Juston Ticknor, president of sales; John Taylor, who co-founded Taylor Elevator Corp. in 1992; and Bill Beaury, who co-founded Taylor Elevator Corp. with Taylor.
