Kevin Napper, who ran Carlton Fields' national White Collar Crime and Government Investigations Practice Group for more than a decade, has left the practice to start his own firm.

Napper, through The Law Offices of Kevin J. Napper, P.A., will continue to represent public and private companies and executives in state and federal government investigations and grand jury matters, according to a statement. Napper, with an office in downtown Tampa, will also represent physicians, nurses, hospitals and other health care providers in professional liability and regulatory matters, the statement adds.

A former prosecutor, Napper has worked as a white-collar defense attorney for more than three decades. Early in his career he worked for both the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Middle District in Tampa and the State Attorney's office in Tampa, where he was felony division deputy chief. He was at Carlton Fields from 1995 until he left last month, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Carlton Fields has more than 10 offices nationwide, including New York City, Washington, D.C. and Los Angeles.
