Area health care firm to expand headquarters

Dental Care Alliance, one of the largest dental support organizations in the country, signed an affiliation agreement with Konikoff Dental Associates, a group of eight practices in the Hampton Roads, Va, area.

Lakewood Ranch-based Dental Care Alliance now supports 30 dental practices in Virginia and 248 dental practices in 13 eastern states, according to a statement. In addition to the Virginia expansion, Dental Care opened two new specialty affiliated practices in Florida: Main Street Children Dentistry & Orthodontics of Clermont and Dental Specialty Center of Cutler Bay, near Miami-Dade.

Dental Care Alliance, to accommodate the growth in dental practices it helps manage, also announced it plans to expand its Lakewood Ranch headquarters, just east of Interstate 75 off University Parkway. The project, an additional 12,000-square-foor office building, could be completed by the middle of 2017.

Dental Care Alliance was founded in 1991.
