FORT MYERS — The Lee Building Industry Association named longtime homebuilding official Phillip Ford executive vice president.

Ford has 23 years' experience in the home building industry, according to a statement. His most recent position was executive vice president for the Charleston Trident Home Builders Association in South Carolina, where he managed staff members and lobbied the local government on housing and construction regulation. Prior to that, he managed and directed a building industry member association in Georgia, the release adds.

A 1993 graduate of Troy State University in Alabama, Ford received the Home Builders Association of South Carolina Champion of Housing award in 2010.

“The BIA is looking forward to having an even bigger voice now that Phillip is on board,” Lee Building Industry Association President Daniel Beiter says in the release. “We welcome him to the team and wish the association continued success in the year ahead.”

The Lee Building Industry Association, a nonprofit professional association and lobbying organization, represents Lee, Hendry and Glades counties.
